A very popular place in this city is Batu Ferringgi Nite Market. Located in George Town, the Market is a top nightspot for those who want to shop under the lights of those vibrant, bustling George Town nights. There are stalls on both sides of the market, filled with an array of items to choose from. Moreover, the market stays open until midnight - leaving the eager shopper plenty of time to browse and buy what they want to buy.

Another top place to be at night is the “Cinema” movie theatre in Penang. The “Cinema” is of the very few places in Penang that has an open theatre. In addition, the movie theatre shows five to eight movies at once- giving its customers different options, as to which movie(s) they want to see. The movies range from Bollywood (Indian version of Hollywood) and Hollywood movies. Moreover, to cover most of the language barriers, the theatre uses English, Malay, and Chinese subtitles. Discounts are, also, available for local students and on special days as well.

The place to be, for whites, is the pub on 20 Leith Street. There, you can sit down and relax drinking some good Kilkenny draft beer, listen to retro American music and chat with your friends and locals. In addition, the pub has a pool table, to play a game or two of amateur billiards and a TV set to watch a good game of football (soccer). Overall, the pub can get very loud at times and the atmosphere is always lively. This is a true Irish pub to relax and unwind after a day of seeing the sights of George Town.

For a night of listening and dancing to reggae music, the reggae pub on Chuila Street is the place to be. Here, you can have a good, old time listening to premium reggae music and knocking down a few beers as well. Come to this place for a taste of the Jamaican experience.

All in all, George Town has a lively nightlife and for those who want and love to have fun it is a good place to be.
