This city has its own Airport which connects the city with the major cities of this planet. One foreign airline and three local airlines operate their flights from this airport. Around 60 kilometers from this airport is the Liepaja Airport hence making air transport fairly easy.

One can also use various busses or taxis to reach the heart of the city once they land. It hardly takes 10 minutes by road to reach Palanga from the airport. It might take up to 80 minutes if you happen to land on Liepaja Airport which is around 80 kilometers from Palanga Airport.

This resort town is located on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Two different rivers namely RąžÄ- and Šventoji flow right through this resort town thus adding to its natural beauty. It was the former name of RąžÄ-, namely Palanga, which gave this city its current name Palanga.

The municipality of Palanga stretches around 24 km from the Latvian border on the northern side to Nemirseta on the southern side. Stockholm, Sweeden is only 281 miles away.

During the historical years this resort town was subdivided into 5 different fisherman villages namely Šventoji, Manciškiai, Kunigiškiai, VanagupÄ-, and Nemirseta. These were later on merged to form an administrative city.
