Rome nightlife

Seen and be seen! This is a statement that best defines the after-dinner entertainment and fun of Rome. Just like any other capital, the eternal city can enumerate its fair share of night out- hideouts that range from a simple Roman ‘passeggiata’ or a nonchalantly paced walk within the historic town to a modern rock and roll venue where aged wine, good coffee and ice-cold beer can meet and greet.
A past nine or an early ten dinner in Rome is not an issue at all. This is considered normal and is widely practiced in this city of ancient and modern grandeur. Generally, the Roman nightlife is essentially easy-going and relaxed compared to its other European counterparts. One of the most notable trend with the nightlife in Rome is the increase in the number of Irish and pseudo-Irish pubs and bars in the capital.
The hang out pods of this city of the gods can be mapped not only by the stereotypically labeled genre of content but by age group as well. The legal drinking age in Italy is relatively young sixteen, so youth participation in clubs, pubs and other venues of night socialization is a common scenario.
Some of the notable places to hang out for night bonding are Piazza Navona and Via della Pace with their labyrinth-alley-laden share that houses wine bars and cafes that are of chic stature. One can also chill and enjoy in the music and heterogeneous atmosphere of Campo De Fiori. Other hotspots for night enjoyments are Trastevere, San Lorenzo, Testaccio and Ostiense. These spots also harbor coffee shops, restaurants, wine bars, pubs, discos and restobars that offer unique styles and ambiance for every visitor.
And if one wants to experience a nightlife that is something out of the ordinary, then it’s high time to pay a visit to the Centri Sociali which is known as a collective melting pot of different cultural and night chilling activities such as film/art exhibitions, concerts and live music trips. Lastly, nightlife in Rome is not complete without the taste of ‘cornetto’ with a soothing cup of cappuccino on your way home.
During summer, a number of clubs, pubs and bars close to give way to outdoor summer events to hype the nightlife of the capital. During these times, more people will prefer to spend time outdoors. Nevertheless, whenever you find yourself planted in this city of history and culture, be assured that you will spend most of your best nights in Rome.

You'll be able to eat some appetizers and taste a few typical Italian wines. Included will be:
-Three glasses of wine
-Sample cheeses and cold cuts

This will take 1.5 hours and costs roughly $50
Trastevere >> added on July 18, 2009, by MadSuh
Trastevere offers a lot of beauty and life. This is the old town of Rome, if one can really call it that. It should be called the "really old" town. Anyhow, the place is a student's favorite hangout. It's packed with bars, coffee shops and clubs. There is lots of culture there as well and one of the most beautiful churches in the city.
Caffe Della Palme >> added on June 9, 2009, by MadSuh
Caffe Della Palme is really close to the Pantheon and actually located in the heart of Rome (Via de Pantheon I believe). It's the most amazing ice cream shop I ever came by, with amazing gelato and truly a must for any foodie :)
Pizza and Pasta and Fiori di Zucca >> added on June 9, 2009, by MadSuh
Obviously, Pizza and Pasta are among the most wanted foods in Rome. I suggest Fiori di Zucca (Zucchini Flowers, which is a really cool dish. Basically, Zucchini Flowers stuffed with fish and then breaded and deep fried ;). Anyhow, make sure when visiting Rome you try to eat about 2-3 intersections away from the main attractions which is hard because there are so many of them ;) Prizes will be much cheaper and the service will be much better.
