The city offers a range of tourist attractions including pre-historic sites, mountain ranges, castles, churches and wonderfully laid-out gardens. In addition, there are visitor centers and museums to add much to the joy of your holiday.

Some of the most visited sights to see in Waterford are as follows:Reginald’s Tower

Soak up historical charm as you make a visit to a tower which is believed to be the first ever building constructed with mortar. A prominent landmark in Waterford, the Reginald’s Tower happens to be the oldest urban civic building. It is also the most ancient monument that has still kept on with its Viking name.

Viking Triangle

Cultural quarters in Waterford are something a traveler can never miss to visit. The Viking Triangle is one of the most ancient of these cultural buildings. Encircled by original 10th century fortifications, this part of the city was at one time a flourishing Viking city.

Mothel Abbey

Yet another important must-see site in Waterford is the Mothel Abbey. Rebuilt by the Power Family, the monastery was originally constructed in the 6th century by St Cuan. A tomb by Roricus O'Comayn is one of the finest features of the abbey here.

The Mall

Constructed by the Wide Streets Comission, the Mall is also a wonderful place to visit. The fine thoroughfare features some fantastic Georgian architecture. Also located close by is the People’s Park, the largest park in Waterford.

Dungarvan

It is the administrative capital of the county of Waterford. Picturesquely positioned on the Dungarvan Bay, it is famous for being the starting point for many a scenic drive. The city was established by the Anglo-Normans in the 12th century. The town offers some wonderful options of deep sea angling along with providing nice walking trails.

Houses & Gardens

Wonderfully built houses and sprawling gardens are a unique feature of Waterford. Be ready to indulge in some lovely nostalgic walks as you visit sights like Lismore Castle Gardens, Dromana House & Gardens, Mount Congreve Gardens (Kilmeaden) and Glenleigh Gardens (Clogheen).
