Sligo is a County Town in the County of Sligo which is part of Ireland. The city of Sligo acts as a borough for the country of Ireland. Borough means that the city is a self governing place which acts as a administrative division for that particular country.

The city of Sligo is part of Connacht Province which is one of the many provinces that make up the city of Sligo. In terms of population the city of Sligo happens to be the second largest city when compared to all other cities in the province of Connacht. The only city which is above the city of Sligo in terms of population is the city of Galway.

The city of Sligo has been gifted with a complex road network that connects the city of Sligo with many neighboring cities. The N4 road connects the city of Sligo to the city of Dublin, the N15 road connects the city of Sligo to Lifford County, and the lengthy N16 which passes through Manorhamilton and connects the city of Sligo to many other major cities.
