Bekasi is situated in the proximity of Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Taxis or small brown colored vans called as Dark are also very famous for those who want to move from one part of the city to the other.

Major cuisines prevalent in the city of Bekasi are Nasi Putih (plain white rice), Kambing (mutton), Ayam (Chicken), Sapi (beef), and Ikan (fish). Sauces like Nasi Uduk and Samble (a form of chili sauce) are also very famous.
