Bekasi Travel Guide, Indonesia

Bekasi is situated in the proximity of Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Located somewhere in the eastern side of Jakarta the city of Bekasi is growing quickly to compete with the other famous cities of Indonesia. With a population of around 2 million inhabitants the city of Bekasi has all the manpower so as to improve its economical importance.

The city of Bekasi hasn’t gained much in terms of industries and hence most of the locals of Bekasi travel out of the city to earn their monthly income. This is the reason why the city of Bekasi is called as a commuter city. Some of the tiny industries which have started to expand their business in the city of Bekasi are trade industries. Business and processing companies have also entered the city of Bekasi. Most of these are located in the region of Karawang and hence this has now become the industrial area for the city of Bekasi.

All kinds of transport options are available in the city of Bekasi for those who want to enter the city or leave the city. The Soekarno Hatta Airport of Jakarta is used for air travel purposes. An airport bus will take you from the giant mall of Bekasi to the airport thus easing your problems. A train is always available after every hour from the Kota Station for those who want to use railway line as the transport mode. Buses are also always available for those who want to travel by road. Taxis are available for those who respect their personal space.

Another option for those who want to travel within the city of Bekasi is the tri cycle which is famous by the name of tri cycle. Two travelers can use the tri cycle at a time. These tri cycles are considered to be the best option but this doesn’t mean that no other way of commuting is available. Taxis or small brown colored vans called as Dark are also very famous for those who want to move from one part of the city to the other.

Major cuisines prevalent in the city of Bekasi are Nasi Putih (plain white rice), Kambing (mutton), Ayam (Chicken), Sapi (beef), and Ikan (fish). Sauces like Nasi Uduk and Samble (a form of chili sauce) are also very famous.
