Raipur History, India
Raipur-Myth or Reality
Raipur is now an independent state of Chhattisgarh, which was earlier the extract of Madhya Pradesh. Today, Raipur is familiar for the naïve city called Naya Raipur. Historians and archeologists suggest Raipur to have been existed in the 9th century onwards. Many experts put forth the statement that Raipur is the oldest part of India to have been explored. We only have proof to uphold the evidence of King Brahmadeva Rai as the founder of the city in the first half of the 19th century.
The 14 century was ruled by the Kalachuri dynasty. Evidences can be noticed in the mind-blowing Sheorinaraynan stone engravings supporting the prime princess called the Jajalladeva II. The family was endowed with some alms and they turned out to be a portion of present Raipur. Today, the writings of such a dynasty are treasured in the well-known museums of Nagpur and Raipur.
The clues of the existence of King Brahmadeva are the next treasure, which is secured in the Raipur Museum. However, the writings are rather puzzling information of the King Brahamadeva to be lived in the 14 century. Spoken earlier, the inscription also describes a prince named Lakshmideva. The coming of his son Simhana, Ramchandra, followed his dynasty. Now, to astonish us again, the earlier mentioned Brahmadeva is the son of Ramchandra.
Brahmadeva and Simhana were the best Kings Raipur has seen. They eventually became famous as they captured 18 major fortresses of their foes. Raipur is abundantly rich in history.
The history of Raipur denotes the amalgamation of many famous cultures. On tracing back their history; experts have come up with the use of traditional medical specialist making use of Jhad Phook to amend many diseases. This was a time when India did not have medical practitioners.
However, music, dance, and drama also have been passed over from the 14th century and even long before which proves the advancement of Raipur in all fields.
