Night life in Merut

Merut is one of the most ancient cities in India. It is believed to be one of the most ancient cities because it is referred to in the great epics of Hindu literature. Merut has a peaceful nightlife considering most of its locals are religious which does not permit them to indulge in nightlife activities. However, in some festival seasons, Merut is much livelier with cultural dances, food and late night praying sessions that are exquisite to witness. Even with its highly religious affiliations, the locals have begun to see rise in western culture nightlife and have started to incorporate some of these activities into their touristic areas.

There are some great hotels and restaurants in the city of Merut which also offer these same night time activities. There are some small pubs and clubs that were designed and developed after Western culture where many tourists enjoy going. The most common event in Merut that sparks the interest of tourists is going to see the folk dances and stage shows. The public organizes many stage shows, dramas, one act plays and monologues, and costume competitions. There are some comedy and kawali shows in the nearby areas as well. These shows are all open to the public for the tourists’ enjoyment.

There are a number of cinemas and movies in the cities. The theatres show three to four shows daily. The theatres are opened 12 hours every day. In addition to seeing both national and international films at these theatre complexes, many people are participating in the various cultural events that are organized in the different colleges and different cultural organizations. These universities and organizations put on different types of performances such as plays and musical concerts as well as festivals.

Merut is well lit during the night hours that makes many tourist feel safe at night. One should be aware that most nightlife activities end around 10 or 11 at night.
