Lucknow History

Lucknow can be traced back to the dynasty of Suryavanshi  and it is from the folktale of Lakshmana that the younger brother of lord Rama was the founder of the ancient city of Lucknow. It was an eminent place near the Gomati River where Lakshmana stayed for a few days while returning from the ashram of Saint Balmiki and leaving “Sita” who was the wife of lord Rama.
