Tourist Places In Leh 

Leh is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the States of Jammu and Kashmir in India. There are millions of visitors coming to this spot every year. Leh is one of the largest towns in Ladakh. In fact, Ladakh is joined to Srinagar by a long main road that travels through the Kashmir Valley and over the high Ladakh pass.  It is an absolutely beautiful trip to make if you are in the area.

 Leh is located 3,521 meters above sea level and it is adorned with  bright green fields with small and winding roads that boast many colorful houses.  Each house has brushwood stored on the roof that are used for the winter and this is certainly an ideal location where you can stay and relax a bit before setting off some wild adventures in the nature bound Leh.  Such adventures include trekking, rafting and cycling.  

Leh, Ladakh is the most popular tourist place.  This is why most of the visitors prefer to visit Leh.  Leh is one of the most attractive Indian towns due to its stunning landscape and the beautiful Buddhist monasteries that are located on the hillside in the surrounding area of the villages.  Considering there are Buddhist monasteries it is safe to say that Leh is in tune with nature and peace of mind.  

 Leh Palace: 

Leh Palace was constructed in 1430 by the Namgyal rulers. This palace belongs to the royal families of India. Leh Palace is one of the more popular and historical sight in India next to the Taj Mahal.  One of the most interesting features regarding Leh Palace is the majestic Tibetan architecture that can be found in its exquisite structure. 

 Stock Palace Museum: 

The Stock palace was erected in 1825 by King Tsespal Tondup Namgyal who was the last ruler of the independent Ladakh. This palace is just 14 short kilometers away from Leh.

There are also various monasteries that visitors can take a tour of which include Thikse, Likir, Alchi and Hemis. Leh is one of the most popular yet desolate locations in India making it the perfect getaway town for Buddhist meditation.
