Nyiregyhaza is the capital of Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg County and it is the seventh biggest city in the country. It is also one of the primary cities in Eastern Hungary. When coming from Budapest, motorists can take the M3 motorway that directly connects Nyiregyhaza to the country’s capital city. Tourists who are coming from Debrecen can traverse Route 34 while those who are coming from Polgar can take Route 36. Travelers can either take Route 37 or Route 38 when they come from the city of Miskolc.

The most colorful and most famous festival in the city is the Happy Art Festival that takes place from the last days of August until the first days of September. This event is considered as the biggest free world music festival in Europe that includes performances from famous local and international artists. The festival also presents different shows such as puppetry, theatre shows, visual arts exhibitions, film and literature. The city also organizes the Nyirseg Autumn and Fruits Festival every September when parades and concerts are presented.
