Miskolc is the third largest city in the country in terms of its population and it is the capital of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County. It is also the educational, economic, administrative and scientific center of Northern Hungary. At the start of this millennium, the city began to pave its way to tourism and cultural development. The closest airports to Miskolc are the ones in Budapest, Debrecen, and Kosice. The best way to reach the city is by train. Intercity trains are the best and cleanest but they are more costly than regular and international trains.

Another way of getting to Miskolc is by a bus ride. There are only a few bus lines which link Miskolc to other cities but daily routes can be expected.
