Budapest sights come with a lot of famous places, as well as well-known tourist attractions, art galleries and museums, and picturesque towns and parks. It is the best place to find areas of interest, shops, restaurants and theatres for sightseeing and nights out. As with most cities in Europe, like Vienna, the best way to get around in Budapest and its downtown area would be through the metro system. It is fast and efficient and really quite cheap, most of all if you decide to buy a one-day or three-day travel card during your stay.

Budapest Sights – Cultural and Historical Attractions

Budapest holds several cultural attractions due to the architectural boom that allowed architects to construct what they wanted in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Not all of the cultural attractions in Budapest sights are located next to each other, but the most important ones do all lie on the same vertical axis, making them known as the “Cultural Avenue” of Budapest. The Buda Castle District, for starters, is the richest part of cultural attractions when it comes to Budapest sights and is quite reminiscent to Bratislava. Here, you can find several museums, from the Museum of Music History to the Museum of Telephony and the Museum of Hungarian Military History.

You can also find a stunning place called the Castle Labyrinth, which is a wide array of natural caves situated underground and has been enhanced by man. The Hungarian House of Wine is also located in the vicinity where Hungarian winemakers are presented to offer wine tasting for anyone who wishes to walk into their humble abode.

To see some historical attractions, visit monuments and buildings at Trinity Square, such as the Old Town Hall of Buda and the Baroque-inspired Trinity statue; this stands in the heart of the square - in memory of the 1691 plague victims. A memorial for the Holocaust victims is located in the Raoul Wallenberg Memorial Park, where an aluminum willow tree stands.

Budapest Sights – Natural Attractions

To see some of the natural attractions of Budapest sights, visit the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, which is the very first permanent bridge built in Budapest and lies over the Danube River. It is about 202 meters long and pedestrians have the opportunity to take walks on it. If you walk along Budapest Danube Corso, you will be able to get a gorgeous view of the Castle Hill, as well as the outstanding Vigadó building – also a great sight to see.
If you go to Heroes’ Square, you can also avail of the ice skating rink during the winter. Speed-skating championships often take place here and have been taking place for more than a decade now. This place has been in existence since the 19th century, and during the summer, boats are available on this lake for rent, which both locals and tourists love.

If you want to see Budapest from another view, I have an advice for you. Last summer I was with a ship from Budapest to Szentendre - it was awesome! All those beautiful bridges, the Parliament, etc. can be seen differently than you saw before! It was a 2 hour long trip and cost 5 euro, but it worth it!
