Paralia Travel Guide – The Beach of Paralia Katerinis
It is a completely new resort with clean sandy beaches and no deep waters, which gathers thousands of tourists during the summer months as being the most popular beach resorts in the Balkans.
When going to Paralia, the first thought flies to sea, sun, souvlaki and traditional Greek music and dances. The beach resort of Paralia Katerini offers the greatest deals of facilities and amenities a seaside resort can offer. Its hotels, taverns, restaurants and bars are full of tourists in summertime. Quality affordable lodgings and accommodation, beautiful souvenirs to buy and the abundance of local beauties to visit make the place a wonderful one as there is no time for getting bored.
Pieria combines sea and forested mountains at the same time offering splendid landscapes for travelers and adventurers to explore. It also combines beaches and mountains in the same region as well as ancient sites with modern elements of architecture, a dreamland!
The most impressive spot that can be found in Paralia is its white beautiful orthodox church on the Promenade, rising right on the shore. Typically Greek, the church is such a marvelous masterpiece of architectural sacral building!

Cheap supermarket near Paralia >> added on June 21, 2009, by angel
If you want to buy some food but you don't want to pay as much as you would have to in Paralia, I suggest you to try that small supermarket we used to deal at. We found it by mistake when we drove back from Katerini to Paralia. It is located on a minor road at about 5 km from Paralia, near a gas station. I hope you can find it.
Renting scooter or ATV >> added on June 21, 2009, by angel
In Paralia you can rent two kind of vehicle: a scooter (there are small ones for one person and bigger ones for two persons too) or an ATV.
Those motorbikes are very cool, I strongly recommend you to try them out, and they are really cheap.
The ATVs... take care with them - they are not really like you imagine them: even though they are inexpensive, they are very weak and slow!
You better use those scooters! :)
My best tip: try out the scooter-traveling! >> added on April 19, 2009, by danko_zoltan
Rent a scooter in Paralia, and go to the mount Olymp, great experience!
