One of the highly known countries in the world is Germany. It is composed of different places and among them is Hamburg. It is Germany’s second biggest city. Hamburg’s complete name is Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg Germany. It is known as 'The Green City on the Water' mainly due to the abundance of parks and lawns found within it. True enough, Hamburg is the most verdant city in Germany.

In addition, it is among Europe's biggest ports. Sophistication flourishes here. You can see it through the architecture of the city - from the elegantly built and captivating gallerias to realistic office buildings.

The full name of Hamburg was acquired from its membership in the medieval Hanseatic League as well as identifies it as a city-state. Also, the name “Hamburg” was present way back in the ninth century wherein Charlemagne bespoke a reinforcement to be constructed on an extended area found in between the Alster and the Elbe rivers. This particular fort was declared as Hamma Burg. The city and its neighboring environs comprise one of the sixteen states of Germany.

When you are taking a tour or trip of Hamburg Germany, you have ample choices. When you are traveling in a restricted time frame, it is best to plan in advance what you want to see or visit based on the number of days you plan on squandering in the city.

Among the most admired places to take a tour and significant to the history of Hamburg is the harbor itself. While the city is not found openly on the sea, the Elbe River and the big port has room even for the largest cargo ships. As you are on the wharf, you can check out their boat museums.

When you want to avail of Hamburg tours by boat yet you don’t feel like seeing the harbor, you need not worry. The River Alster provides stunning sights of the best side of Hamburg. Also, take a tour around Hamburg's manmade lake and you can see in the city’s center with a steam ship. Choose from canal tours and two hour cruises, to lake tours and hop-on, hop-off tours.

That’s not all. Hamburg is not just about ships and water. You can visit Speicherstadt - Hamburg’s hundred-year-old warehouse. Though it doesn’t sound appealing, this red brick structure with its elaborate rooftops and towers is definitely outstanding. During the night, this complex is illuminated and several delightful views can be found on the neighboring canals and bridges.

More than that, there is plethora of shopping that’s made available. Experience Mönckebergstrasse. It is an extensive stretch of stores and shops that offer goods as well as services. Then, the Rodin exhibit and the Hamburg Dungeon are two prominent museums. Both are significant to the history of Hamburg. Rodin was a famous French sculptor who was amazingly known in the country way back in the twentieth century. The Hamburg Dungeon, on the other hand, provides more interactive tour and experience.

Last time i have been at Hamburg, i havent had much time, but you could see, that thecity has got much to offer. A lot of shops in the inner city and you can find everywhere a place to sit down and enjoy a coffe. Also a wide variety of restaurants and bars are located there. If you like playing, you can visit the casino, thats directly in the city center. Close by are also some theaters.
If you like other kinds of fun, you can also go to the famous Reeperbahn, where nearly everything can be found. But be carefull, there are also a lot of criminals around.
Just go there and enjoy the things Hamburg has got to offer.

If you are at Hamburg, go and visit the harbour area, especially the so called Speicherstadt. You can make boat rides through it and see the old store houses, sailing ships and really big freigthers.

If you are at the city and if you like fish or other sea food, you definitels should go to the fish markets of Hamburg Altona. You have to get up a little bit early, but there you get the freshest fish you can get.
