The second main annual event is the Leineweber Market in May. This is considered the largest Street fair in East Westfalia. This event, which translates as Linen Weaver Market, is the oldest street fairing the city and it is held in the heart of Bielefeld. Every July, the city hosts the Sparrenburg Festival which takes back spectators to the Middle-Ages for three days. The affair occurs at the grounds of the Sparrenburg Castle wherein various entertainers animate scenes from the medieval times.

Stadwerke Run and Roll Day is the most famous sporting event in Bielefeld. This happening includes various types of competition for runners, skaters and wheelchair users. There are also different activities for the family. The last but the brightest event during the year is the Wiehnachtsmarkt or the Christmas Market. During this time of the year, the air is filled with the scent of different Christmas delicacies such as gingerbread, and mulled wine. Wooden stalls with colorful Christmas ornaments add to the festival feel of the city. Different activities are also held throughout the span of this event.
