Lahti, Finland - Nightlife

Nightlife in Lahti, Finland is not as abundant as you would find in a major city, like Helsinki.  It is also a lot different from what you would expect, however, there are still plenty of nightclubs, bars, and pubs that you can go to in order to enjoy a night out in town.

Teerenpeli is a brewery restaurant and so much more!  There are dozens of beers that you can choose from at Teerenpeli while you enjoy a great relaxing atmosphere that will give you a break from shopping all day.  Their specialty is Sulami bread, as well as a selection of ciders or whisky too.

Cumulus is a great spot that you can go to in order to meet new people, and this may be the sole purpose that people go there for.  At Cumulus, they play new hits, as well as old hits, while they throw in a few slow songs during the night.  This place is great for people of all ages, not just teens.  The dress code isn't too fancy, so women can wear a nice pair of pants or a casual dress.

Virtanen and Diva are two great nightclubs that are connected to each other.  Diva is a dance club with modern music playing, and they sometimes have a club night for only trance etc.  The apparel worn here is nice club wear, nothing too casual or too formal.  The Virtanen plays music from the 70s to the some 90s.  Some of the music is only known by natives, so hearing people singing and watching them dance to odd music isn't out of the ordinary.  The dress code here is the same as at Diva’s, so you can go back and forth between the two as you please.

8-sali is located at the Youth Centre in Lahti where you can listen to many independent bands.  You can hear a lot of metal, hip-hop, goth, and punk; and the smaller gigs tend to give off a better atmosphere.  There aren't any age restrictions for this place either.

A great bar that you can go to is Molly Malone's Irish Bar, which has been named as one of Europe's top 50 Irish Pubs.  It has 3 bars, 2 floors, as well as a qualified staff, which combine to give a happy and genuine Irish atmosphere.  There is also high quality live music each night.

 Brazen Head is located in Dublin and it is Molly Malone's twin in Helsinki.
