Santiago de Cuba, Cuba - Nightlife

You can’t talk about Cuba and forget to mention the happening nightlife. There is much more to Cuba than cigars and coffee. Santiago de Cuba boasts the greatest, hot and happening nightlife, overflowing with music and joy.

Cuba is famous for TROVA brought into international repute by crooners like AUTE, PABLO MILANES or the legendary icon of Cuban music following the revolution - SILVIO RODRIGUEZ.

Music runs in the veins of Cubans and every other location in Santiago de Cuba houses nightclubs, clubs, pubs and bars where you can let down your guard and soak in the rich music of Santiago’s nightlife.

La Casa de la Trova

It means HOUSE OF TROVA. The eclectic selection of Cuban music played every night inside this live music venue will blow your mind away. Eliades Ochoa, the Buena Vista Social Club and others regularly perform in this legendary music hall which is a favorite haunt of musicians. You can enjoy a view of the street life at night from the balcony.

Casa de Las Tradiciones

The meaning of this one is HOUSE OF TRADTION. If a quiet and intimate environment is what you are looking for, you should head to this music joint in the TIVOLI district. Santiago locals call it by the name of LA CASONA.

Get ready to hit the dance floor and let your hair down; party away the night like wild chicks and let the groovy music sweep you out of your senses.

The beats of reggae, calypso and popular world music are so infectious, that even if you have two left feet, you will automatically start shaking a leg to the foot tapping numbers. The persistent Cubans will no doubt egg you on!

Tropicana

This nightclub is situated on the national highway. Tropicana in Havana is very expensive but its Santiago counterpart is cheaper. The atmosphere here is electrifying and throbs with pulsating music.

A few other really cheap cabarets that you can try out are Santiago Café and SAN PEDRO DEL MAR. Here admission costs vary between $5 to $10 for couples only and is an affordable watering hole for cool dudes and hot chicks.

Other hotspots for wild rounds of partying are LA CLAQUETA, PATIO de los DOS ABUELOS, PATIO de ARTEX, DISCOTECA la IRIS, CLUB 300 and LA CASA Del CARIBE.
