Zhengzhou was officially known as Zhengxian and it was some years back that the name of this city was changed to Zhengzhou. The city of Zhengzhou ranks below the province but above a county as per the administrative structure of China and hence it is known as prefecture level municipality. Zhengzhou is an important political hub for the People’s Republic of China and hence it was made the capital for the province of Henan.

Zhengzhou has been divided into a single county (there are total 117 counties in the People’s Republic of China), 5 cites at the county level (total 372 cities in this country), 6 districts (total 862 of them in the complete country), and 12 county - level divisions out of the total 2872 divisions of China.

Zhengzhou is located on the sides of Yellow River of China and is bordered by various cities of China from all the different sides. Xinxiang borders the city of Zhengzhou from the North Eastern side, Jiaozuo covers the city from the North Western Side, Luoyang covers the city from the Western side, Pingdingshan covers the city from the South Western side, Xuchang from the South Eastern side, and Kaifeng from the Eastern side of the city.

Since October 1948, Zhengzhou has experienced around 7 Mayors and 16 party chiefs of CPC Party (Politics of the People’s Republic of China). A party chief for CPC party is the party boss who is responsible for all the major decisions which are taken in the party.

Zhengzhou is one of the industrial hubs for the People’s Republic of China. Some of the products that are produced in bulk within the industries of this country are textiles, locomotives, fertilizers, cigarettes, tractors, agricultural machinery, processed meats, and equipments used in day to day electricity based works.

Agricultural industry also excels in this country with maize, wheat, cotton, apples, paulownia, and tobacco being the major products.

China is the most populated country on this planet and this is so because most of the cities of this country are very highly populated. Zhengzhou itself has around 7 million inhabitants living in the city as per the census of 2006.
