Yancheng is located in a low area, its topography being dominated by the eastern low costal plains and marshes. The land surface keeps growing every year to the detriment of the sea due to the high amounts of sediments brought by Yangtze River. Climate in Yancheng is subtropical, influenced by the monsoon and has four different seasons.
