Tientsin Nightlife, China

Tientsin, or Tianjin, as it is better known is a great city for an interesting nightlife. There is a wide array of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs scattered all over the city. As for food, the possibilities are endless.

To start your evening out in Tientsin, you’ll have limitless choices for sustenance. Many of the street vendors offer traditional Chinese favorites, such as Ma Hua (a twisted dough with sesame seeds), and Gou Bu Li (a stuffed bun).

If you are looking for some local fare, try Goubuli Dumpling Restaurant. Undoubtedly, the most famous restaurant in Tianjin, this restaurant serves the favorite food as a walk up on the first floor and full service restaurant on the second.

The Yue Weixian Restaurant has over six hundred pieces of antiques in the restaurant. The food is excellent and you may place a phone call through a one hundred year old phone. This restaurant serves Cantonese food and seafood dishes. For those of you looking for some Western food, then The Island Bar and Grill is the place to go. You’ll find Mexican foods, pizza, burgers, and even Italian food.

If you just have no idea what you are wanting, then you must try Food Street, also known as Shipin Jie. It is like a large shopping mall, but has two levels and over fifty restaurants. If you are looking to try something adventurous, you can find snake, dog, and some of the other Chinese cuisines. There are some upscale restaurants and some really cheap food stalls. After you have finished dining, there are many great nightclubs and bars available.

The Cosy Café and Bar is a great local hangout with some dancing, music, and free pool. It has a fairly decent menu and friendly staff.

For a good disco, try Sergeant Pepper’s. It’s owned by a foreigner and plays disco music with an outstanding Pilipino Band. If that’s not up your alley, you can walk down to Bar Street. There are several karaoke bars and discos available for you to dance until dawn.
