Shenyang is the biggest metropolis in northeastern China and is the main focal point for economics, politics, and culture. It’s located in Liaoning Province. It’s basically crowded with several museums, religious attractions, and natural parks.

Traveling to Shenyang

You can reach Shenyang by taking a plane to Shenyang Taoxian International Airport. Flights can come from 58 local destinations and a number of international countries, such as Korea, Russia, Thailand, Australia, United States, and France.

Going Around Shenyang

Getting around Shenyang is definitely not a problem. For one, there are over 3,000 buses plying the city and 140 bus liners. They are found in several districts, including Tiexi, Huanggu, and Shenhe. The fares are also very cheap. If you have more money, you can simply hail a taxi or rent a car.

The Sights of Shenyang

There are innumerable worth-seeing places in Shenyang and where to go is only a matter of preference. You can start, though, with world-acclaimed attractions such as the Imperial Palace, which has been perfectly preserved, similar to that of the Forbidden City. Its land area is of 60,000 square meters and it is comprised of 20 courtyards and 300 rooms. The palace is a reflection of the daily life of emperors and other members of the court during the Qing Dynasty.

You also have the Fuling Tomb, which was built in 1629. This is where the remnants of the founder of Qing Dynasty, Nurhachi, and his wife are. It’s located in the Tianzhu Mountain, amidst beautiful topography and scenery. The Meteorite Mountain Park, on the other hand, is the best place to observe meteor showers. As a matter of fact, the biggest meteorite that ever landed on Earth can be found in this area.

The South Mosque is one of the religious centers in the city and it is the biggest of all. It covers 7,000 square meters and it is divided into several rooms, including a worship hall. The main quarters of the Shenyang Islam Association is found here.
