Ningbo Travel Guide, China


Ningbo is a city located at the province of Zhejiang, China.  It is blessed with a lot of tourist spots spreading in an area of 9,365 square kilometers.  It has great landmarks from five-star hotels, an international shopping center and restaurants.  Here are other pertinent facts on the entire city.


Climate in Ningbo varies from time to time and is often characterized by subtropical monsoon ones.  Moderate humidity could also be distinct in this city.  The most humid month is July where the heat could surge up to a very mild 28 degree Celsius.  The coldest temperature is established on the month of January at 4.7 degrees Celsius. 


Traveling to Ningbo is made possible by different modes of transportation.  Several airports are found in the area and the most modern of which is the Ningbo Lishe Airport.  This has the most modern aviation and communication equipment and is the home for 38 airlines under the international and local categories.

The place is also served by different bus stations such as Huangli, Gaotang, Stadium, Shuguang and Shuangdongfang.  Railway stations travel from North to South as well.  Another good idea of traveling around town is through walking especially because there are a lot of shopping malls in the area.


Ningbo is the host to a very unique festivity which is known as the Liangzhu Wedding Festival.  This event started in the year 2000 and is now forming part of the city’s tradition.  Many couples tie the knot and after being wed, they enjoy a week-long celebration of their married life.  These rites were made in commemoration of the romance of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai.


Ningbo is considered as the seat of Hemudu civilization.  As one of the first sites discovered in China, it houses several relics from the past which includes tools made from clay, jade and other precious metals.  One of the most sought after traces of history is the Asoka Temple.

Other temples in the area gaining recognition worldwide are the Baoguo and the Tiantong temples.  The first one was constructed during the Northern Song Dynasty with wood comprising most of the structure.  The second one, on the other hand, is a tourist ground which is the home of several other attractions in the city.  It is the largest temple in the city standing at around 60,000 square meters.

Shopping Malls

People of Ningbo display their handicrafts through several malls in the place.  Locating for other souvenirs might as well help you.  One of the key areas where shopping could be made is via Tianyi Square.  Aside from clothes and cosmetics, home appliances are sold as well.  It embraces several stalls and supermarkets.  Other department stores in Ningbo are Intime, Jinguang and Ningbo New World.

Ningbo certainly depicts the richness of the culture of its people.  Its celebrations were known to uphold what history has left behind.  This city is one of the many pleasant sights in China.
