Dongguan is located in the Guangdong province.  It is an important industrial city.  The city borders Guangzhou to the north, Shenzhen to the south, Huizhou to the northeast, and the Pearl River to the West.  Between the four metropolitan areas, there are over 25 million occupants, in this city

This city is home to the world’s biggest shopping mall called the South China Mall.  There is also the famous Huanghe Fashion Town, which is located in the Humen District.  This area of the city is home to one of the largest textile and clothing markets, with a span of almost one kilometer.  Many of the products you can find for sale here are also exported to the rest of the world.  You will be amazed at the low whole prices, even if you buy in small quantities.

You can find anything in this city at a very reasonable, almost low price.  Massages and manicures are very popular.  Food and street vendors can be a lot of fun to bargain with.  They also expect you to haggle.  The small and smart shops offer unique items for souvenirs and the food can be quite remarkable.

For those wanting to spend a night in town, there are a multitude of bars, pubs, discos, and karaoke clubs to entertain you.  Several of the most popular clubs are located Bar Street.  There are local bars, and clubs that cater more to tourists.  Check with your hotel front desk to get an idea of where to go.

A word to the wise:  Prostitution is very common here and throughout China.  Be careful if you do not want their services.  They will often charge you just for speaking with them.  Try to walk away if they appear to be getting too friendly.
