Santiago, Chile - Sights

Santiago is a beautiful city of Chile. It is located in the central valley of the country known as Santiago Basin.  Santiago Basin is a large bowl-shaped valley surrounded by the mountains.

 Due to the continued economic growth for almost two decades it has become the most modern and largest metropolitan area in the South America.

There are a lot of restaurants of every ethnic background. Besides, there are shopping malls, nightclubs, discos, pubs, bars, museums, restaurants, zoo, public parks and a lot of historical places in this city. The moderate climate, beautiful natural landscapes and archeological wonders of this city have great attractions for the tourists from all over the world.

In Santiago, there are a lot of wonderful travel destinations, cultural and historical places. Some of the most famous places in Santiago are Centro Cultural Palacio de La Moneda, Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino, Museo de Santiago Casa Colorada, Forestal Park, San Cristóbal Hill, Víctor Jara Stadium, Estadio Santa Laura and Valle Nevado.

Los Graneros del Alba  is a great shopping spot in Los Graneros del Alba shopping village. It features restaurants, recreational parks and wide array of shops. You can have a wonderful shopping experience with your friends and family in Los Graneros del Alba Statue of the Virgin

The Statue of the Virgin provides an overview of the whole city.  It is located atop the hill of Cerro San Cristobal and provides wonderful scenic views of the city.

 Museum of Natural History has great attractions for those who want to explore the history and culture of Santiago. It is also famous for showing Easter Island artifacts

Museum of pre- Columbian Art exhibits the objects and collectibles from pre- Columbian cultures of Central America. It also represents archeological collection from Ancient Peru and other parts of the South America. There are more than 490 exquisite objects. The building of the museum was originally an Inca ceremonial courthouse. The conqueror Alonso Díaz built it in a fine colonial style building.

Estadio Monumental David Arellano is a big football stadium in this city having capacity to accommodation more than 65,000 people. The stadium is being used by the most famous football teams of the city. Estadio Víctor JaraIt is a famous stadium in Santiago. It was renamed as a memorial of a singer Víctor Jara. It is a multi-sports complex located in the western part of Santiago. It is used for basketball, volleyball, boxing, table tennis and indoor soccer.

Centro Cultural Palacio de La Moneda is a biggest cultural and recreational place in Santiago.

Plaza de Armas is a wonderful place for listening to live music and see the performances of the street performers.

Casa Colorada is a one of the best colonial-preserved house in the city. It houses an information museum named Museo de Santiago. It hosts a number of events and exhibits throughout the year.

Santiago Parks Santiago has four beautiful parks that offer spectacular views of the city.

Canelo de Nos (El) is an education and recreational center in Santiago. It has great attraction for children and tourists from all over the world.
