The city of Concepción is situated in Chile and it holds the spot for having 2nd largest population when compared to other cities of Chile. The city of Concepción is one of the 12 comunas for the Province of Concepción. The city of Concepción has the second highest population (around one million inhabitants) when compared to other cities of Chile. Some districts around the city of Concepción are collectively called as Greater Concepción (Gran Concepción). Some of these districts are Penco, Lota, San Pedro de la Paz, Hualqi, Coronel etc. This is the 2nd largest collection of districts (collectively known as conurbation) amongst all the conurbations of Chile. As per the census of year 2002 Great Concepción is said to have a population of around 2 million inhabitants.

The climate of Concepción is bearable and not that harsh for the locals of the city. This happens due to the presence of River Bio Bio and Pacific Ocean. The awesome breeze which flows from these water bodies cools the surrounding temperature. Rainfall is experienced during winters and the climate is somewhat humid during those days. Days are warm but nights are colder.
