Once in Natal, don’t miss out its nightlife.

 Ponta Negra beach is a hotspot for the night owls. It has an array of bars and restaurants that stay open almost till sunrise.

One place that’s is a combination of a pub and disco is called ‘The Tavern’. It’s situated in the youth hostel Lua Cheia and is jam packed particularly from Thursdays to Sundays when people come to hear the bands playing live.

Forro is a very popular traditional dance of Natal and its popularity has remained for decades. You can attend one of these folkloric shows and dances that are held every Thursday night. You can get a good feel of Natal’s culture and nightlife by watching them. These shows take place inside a historic building where the centre of tourism (Centro de Turismo) is also located. Actually, the dance form was originally the poor people’s way of entertainment. The word ‘forro’ is the corruption of the English words ‘for all’ that implies that it was for anyone and everyone to participate and have fun. With some very basic movements, anyone can join in; however, there are instructors for those who do not have the dancing shoes.

If you are looking forward to partying with the local young crowd, you can go to Albatroz that plays good samba and is a favorite haunt of Natalenses. Opening only few nights a week, it plays different kinds of music each night. Albatroz is located near Praca Civica, in Petropolis. 

Chaplin is an amusing place because it consists of several kinds of ambiences.

It has a disco, a video bar, a pub and a saloon. As it’s open only from Thursday to Saturday, it tends to get very crowded.

Cervejaria Via Costeira. This is an expansive place with succulent brews and cold-cut buffet that is something you can write home about. The ambience is excellent and is frequented by local Brazilians and foreigners.
