Mucuri is a beautiful tropical town in the eastern part of Brazil 28 miles from Salvador and 238 from Porto Seguro. It is one of the best kept secrets of this side of Brazil as it offers miles and miles of seashore without you having to deal with many tourists. Although the place is not deserted, you can enjoy the beach without having too much interruption from other tourists in the area. But even though it’s a tropical town, it’s a little bit elevated by seven meters. This means that the temperature of Mucuri could be hotter compared to other areas in Brazil.

Although tourism is increasingly becoming important for the locals, Mucuri could still be considered as a fishing and agricultural village. Remember that the beach is a 35-kilometer stretch so there are places where you can enjoy privacy and places where you can have fun with your friends.

Mucuri can be easily reached through Bahia. If you’re flying in by air, you’ll arrive in Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães International Airport. From that point, you can grab a taxi or a bus, which is more affordable compared to taxis. If you know a little bit of Portuguese, you can easily transfer from one bus to another until you reach your destination. It is highly recommended to stay in Bahia for a day or two before transferring to Mucuri to have a good idea of the mode of transportation so that you will not get lost and end up spending more on transportation.
