Curitiba is the capital for the largest state of Brazil named as Paraná which is part of Southern Brazil. This state of Paraná is said to have the largest economy when compared to rest of the states for the country of Brazil and this reflects well in the city of Curitiba. The GDP for this city of Brazil touches almost R$ 30 billion which is huge when compared to the rest of the cities for Brazil. Many international level companies have branches in the city of Curitiba. Some of them are HSBC, Renault, Nissan, ExxonMobil, Siemens, Audi, Volkswagen, and Kraft Foods etc. Industries comprise around 35 percent of the total while the rest is comprised of service and commerce sector.

The average temperature during winters is around 13 degree Celsius but it can even reach freezing points. The city of Curitiba is situated on flat terrain which has been prone to floods and hence Curitiba experiences damp winters. Snowfall isn’t regular in the city of Curitiba but the city has experienced snowfall thrice up till now. Average temperature during summers is around 21 degree Celsius but it can touch the heights of 32 degree Celsius on particular hot days. The highest ever that Curitiba has faced was around 35.6 degree Celsius while the lowest ever recorded was around -8 degree Celsius.

The current recorded population for the city of Curitiba is around 3230000 inhabitants out of which around 77 percent are whites, 18 percent are browns, 3 percent are blacks, and rests being of Asian descent. Mostly in the southern part of Brazil you will find people from European descent and the city of Curitiba is no different from the other neighbors of Southern Brazil. The population of Curitiba is made up of immigrants from almost every famous country on this planet. Immigrants from Poland, Italy, Ukraine, Japan, Arab countries like Syria and Lebanon, Russia, and many other famous countries of Europe had settled long back in this city of Curitiba and today they are part of Curitiba’s population.

Although Portuguese is the mother tongue for the country of Brazil but Spanish and English have also become a regular part of school curriculums due to their growing importance.
