Belem Nightlife, Brazil

Belem, Brazil has an exceptional nightlife for tourists and local alike.  The city’s nightlife is found on Avenida Visconde de Sousa Franco, and other surrounding streets.  There are several discos, bars and clubs located closely together, allowing for a short stroll to get from one club to another.   

Before embarking on your clubbing adventure, ask around to see where the locals suggest going.  Many times you will find a great hotspot that may not be well known to tourists. 

Some of the recommended clubs includes The Roxy, The Iguana, and the Democracia Lounge.  Each offers a different genre of music and low cover charges.  Most clubs don’t open until at least 10 p.m. and will often stay open until 6 or 7 a.m.  Make sure to grab an afternoon nap before embarking on your club search for the evening. 

Another nightlife location in Belem is the Estacao das Docas, which has live music most nights.  For samba music, consider Bar Joilson.  For safety concerns, it should be noted that the Bar do Parque is usually only patronized by prostitutes and their customers.

 Açaí Biruta is a great bar for you to relax and unwind.  This tavern has hammocks and beached boat inside.  Botequin offers live music and DJ’s and is more causal than some of the other bars in Belem. Dress for most clubs is considered trendy.  Sneakers and jeans are frowned upon, so be sure to pack your most up-to-date fashions when visiting Belem.  Many of the past beauty queens have been from Brazil and beautiful people seem to the norm. 

The Belem nightlife continues to draw people in for dancing and music.  Traditional music and dance, as well as Samba shows, are all popular throughout the city.  Many places offer dance lessons to help you out on the dance floor at the clubs.  Belem is definitely a place to consider visiting on your next holiday.
