Bridgetown nightlife

Christ Church and St. Michael are the chief centers of Barbados’ nightlife but Bridgetown nightlife is quite active and if we say in jest, it is livelier, more promising than the nightlife of other nearby cities like Canaima (Venezuela) or Vieques (Puerto Rico). And speaking of Bridgetown nightlife, it is the quintessential nightlife – the area nightspots as well as most of the eating and drinking joints open late in the evening, closing down at or just before dawn. Bridgetown nightlife has another specialty – once you have paid the entrance-fee, you get free-flowing drinks (without having to pay a single penny) at most of the venues.
Bridgetown Nightlife – The Boatyard Bar & South Deck Grill
Locally known as ‘The Boatyard’, this Bay Street spot is a haven of entertainment. Categorized as bar, pub and nightclub, it serves guests all seven days of the week. With its lively ambience and stylish interiors, The Boatyard attracts a comparatively young crowd. You will like jiving to the tunes of DJ mixes and live entertainment by local bands. And if you are hungry, you can have much more than just pub-grubs at very reasonable rates.
Bridgetown Nightlife – Harbour Lights
Located on the water’s edge in the lower Bay Street area, Harbour Lights is yet another popular weekend entertainment venue. Operating for over 2 decades now, the amusement spot is frequented by younger crowds and has special nightly programs. On the Beach Party nights, guests are treated to mouth-watering Caribbean barbecues and other local fare, drinks and live music. On the Dance Party nights, you are treated to recorded music and DJ mixes until the wee hours of the morning. Besides, you also have live acts and shows like the thrilling fire-eating show, etc.
Bridgetown Nightlife – Other Well-liked Spots
The Waterfront Café with its fresh seafood offering, live music and full-bar facility is among the other trendy nightspots. Here, you get excellent views of The Careenage as bonus.
The Baxters Road spots that sell a wide variety of tropical drinks and beer, besides unusual local cookery are worth visiting.
Though a little expensive, the Harbour Master Cruises (especially the evening cruises) stand for a lifetime experience. Entertainment options for you range from dining, dancing and drinking to enjoying live band music, DJ mixes as well as participating in Bingo/Casino games.
Visit any of the above Bridgetown nightlife venues – eat, drink, dance or just befriend the Bajans and you will surely enjoy yourself.
