 The city of Hobart happens to be the capital city for the state of Tasmania which is an island state in Australia. The city of Hobart is one of the oldest cities when compared to other cities in Australia and this makes this city culturally very important for Australian tourism industry.

Although the temperatures for the city of Hobart are very less still the city rarely experiences snowfall. On the other hand Mount Wellington constantly receives snowfall due to its elevation. 

 

The metropolitan area of Hobart which is also called as Greater Hobart consists of 3 sub cities namely City of Glenorchy, City of Clarence, and City of Hobart. This metropolitan area also includes different urbanized areas like Municipality of Brighton and Municipality of Kingborough. The famous Port of Hobart is built around the historical area which is called as Sullivan’s Cove. This area of Sullivan’s Cove is that land where the first few settlements of this city started to live. Hence Sullivan’s Cove is of high historical and cultural importance for the city of Hobart. Thus the Port of Hobart also becomes an important place due to its location.

 

The economy of Hobart has improved considerably since last many decades due to the presence of a Port on the coast of the city. The Port of Hobart loads around 2000 tons of cargo packets every year for Aurora Australis which is an important research vessel for Australia.

 

The city of Hobart has many other industries like that of Cadbury, a zinc smelter factory, Cascade Brewery, and lastly the tourism industry which is performing wonders for the economy of Hobart.
