The city of Ushuaia happens to be the capital city for Tierra del Fuego which is a province in the country of Argentina. The city of Ushuaia is surrounded by Beagle Channel from the Southern Side and by Martial Mountain Range from the Northern Side. Also, a wide bay is located on the sides of this city thus making the soil of that region very fertile for agricultural purposes. The city of Ushuaia is also surrounded by the huge Magellanic sub polar forest which is situated on the hills that surround this city. Some of the very famous trees that make up this huge forest are Maytenus Magellanica (which means hard log mayten), many types of Nothofagus (these are the trees that give the beautiful green look to the mountains), and Drimys Winteri (which means winter’s bark) etc.

The annual average temperature for the city of Ushuaia is around 5.5 degrees Celsius. The average annual maximum temperature for the city of Ushuaia is around 9 degree Celsius. This explains that the city of Ushuaia is fairly cold throughout the year and hence you must be well prepared for such a climate whenever you plan to tour this capital city. The city is regularly hit by strong winds which bend the different trees of the city. That is why they are called flag trees. The yearly precipitation for the city of Ushuaia is around 560 mm but this doesn’t mean that this capital city is dry throughout the year. Around 160 days are dry when the city either receives rainfall of receives heavy snow.

The city of Ushuaia gained international recognition due to a local show which was dubbed in English and published worldwide by the famous Discovery Channel and its associates. The name of the show was Ushuaïa, le magazine de l'Extrême which was dubbed in English and named as Ushuaia: The Ultimate Adventure.

As per the census of 2001 the population for the city of Ushuaia was around 64000 inhabitants. This small number of locals is another reason why the city is a must visit for any tourist as you won’t find the roads and markets flocking with locals like it happens in many other metro tourist hot spots.
