Tirana, Albania – Overview: Cultural, Economical and Commercial Hub of Albania

Tirana is the cultural, economical and commercial hub of the Republic of Albania since 1920. Tirana is the capital and the largest city of the country. Its population is around 600,000 inhabitants in the urban areas.

Location

Tirana is located in the southeast of Europe with Greece in the south and Macedonia in the north east. The Hills of Kamza surround Tirana to the north, to the west there are the Hills of Vaqqar and Sauk lies in the east. Four different lakes add a touch of natural mystic and beauty to the city. However, there is no bus service to Tirana from other parts of Europe. Thus, you have to travel by either rail or air in such situations.
