I am reading a book about Moscow and it seems that people are living in poverty.
Is it still the same?

Althought I'm not living there I would not say that people are living in poverty. I think Moscow is the most developed city in Russia, but it can have some not so rich quarters, just like Rio de Janeiro or New York.
