Do you prefer 5 star Hotel or just ordinary Hotel?
Want to know your ideas about this one, since we are tightening our belts and maybe some enlightenment for those who wants to travel and stay in a hotel.

The answer is obvious for me, but knowing what people think is another thing;)

Well, personally I prefer simple Hotels. First of all they are cheaper. This way I can travel to more places and visit more museums and sights with the money left. Plus as I know myself I'm out in the town/city all day so I would only sleep in the hotel. That's why a bed and a roof above my head would do me just fine.
I'm sure five star hotels are marvellous and all, but I prefer simple things.

I totally agree with you. When traveling we are always out anyways, so we need a hotel to sleep on. The money that will be paid in 5 star hotel should be used on more important stuff like food, visiting tourist spots and etc.

Since I've actually never stayed at a 5 star hotel, I can't be 100% sure, but we recently stayed at a 4+ star hotel and it was a true paradise. I wouldn't mind staying there again!

Though that depends on the price of course - I would not turn down an offer to stay at a 5 star hotel at a cheap price ;-)

Normally we stay somewhere cheaper so we can make more trips instead, as you say: we're out most of the day anyway. Though I enjoy something different now and then as a change.

Then there is the question of how much luggage you have with you, if staying more luxury you need more and more elegant clothes.

So the answer has to be: mostly ordinary, but sometimes more luxury.

Champagne for breakfast isn't that bad.... *giggles*

Cheers ;-)

Hey, usually I don't have time for a breakfast, so you're right, champagne for breakfast isn't that bad at all. :D I prefer also cheaper accommodations but time to time it's really good and relaxing to don't be worried of the price and visit a luxury hotel. (Just to be clear my second name is not Rockefeller and by time to time I mean one time in 5 years or so :P). Cheers

I also think that every hotel style is an experience. We have stayed at everything from a very low standard hostel (dusty old magazine loft without proper windows) to 4+ star luxury hotel and it's so totally different from each other.

I wouldn't want to be without neither experience, because both of them is very memorable in an opposite way!

Oh, and we've even slept in the car some nights, but that I really don't recommend.... *giggles*
