single traveling
last year i had a great cruise booked by expedia and was able to get a single room for a lesser price than double occupancy. is this possible again

You should try cruises that are destined especially to single people. You may also check which cruise lines have now single cabins on their ships - more and more have. There you will surely find better prices because the company does not make you pay for the place they loose if you book a double cabin alone.
