San Bernardino History
According to Native American legends in relation to the Arrowhead, a single arrow from heaven burned the creation on the mountainside to show the tribes where they can be healed. By 1889, the world of springs near the hotel on site had developed considerably. The hotel guests generally raved regarding the crystal clear water from old springs that encouraged Seth Marshall for setting a bottling operation in the basement of the hotel. Nevertheless, the water from cold springs was shipped towards Los Angeles below the newly formed Arrowhead trademark by 1905.
