We spent the night at some cheap hotel, and did not care either, we were so tired and really couldn't be bothered with anything besides maybe finishing a few more beers before hitting the sack :)

The next day we woke up all fresh and ready to see another amazing sight, Antelope Canyon.

But before visiting Antelope Canyon we stopped by the Glen Canyon Dam. We did not actually go down the damn because we didn't have enough time to do that, but we went to the side of it to look down and enjoy the amazing views over the canyon cliffs which is much nicer anyway.

Take a look at the pictures, it was quite amazing and because it was again so windy, it was scary as well.

There is lower and upper Antelope Canyon, and we ended up going to the upper one. The advantage of the lower canyon is that you get these beautiful sun rays almost all of the day, while at the upper one you only get them once a day for about 15minutes.

I wish we would have picked a better time, so we could see the sun rays coming in, but we were out of luck, because all times had already been reserved.

Anyhow, we booked out tour with this Indian tour company (it's all run by Indian tribes by the way). They put you up in these trucks and then drive you to the canyon. You'd think that you could drive there on your own, but you'd need one of those monster trucks with the huge wheels in order not to get stuck all the time. The ride through the sand was already fund but I got really excited when I saw the canyon ahead of me.

I won't tell you much about it, because the pictures will tell you all you need to know about Antelope Canyon. However, two thing you might want to consider when going there.

  • take off your contact lenses (when it's windy)
  • protect your camera at all times (again when it's windy)

Guess what? It was super windy and sand was coming down the walls as if it was raining. You cannot even take pictures with a flash light, because all the sand will reflect the light. Anyhow, my eyes were hurting for a day and I probably need to buy a new camera.
