Applegarth Hotel Windermere, United Kingdom

Applegarth Villa is truly a rare find in the very heart of the Lake District. Offering individual luxury accommodation of the highest standard, this magnificent Villa is unique to Windermere and the food was amazing.

We found the owners extremely friendly from being booked in to the service at the bar and in the restaurant. It is a family run hotel and that really shows with the warmth. They had a very good selection of wines and even a whiskey bar but we didn't go for the 50 year old whiskey although if we had the money, wewould have loved to try it!

The room we stayed in had recently been refurbished and it was probably one of the nicest rooms we've ever stayed in. The bathroom was what dreams are made of with a huge bath and a separate shower.

We really felt the benefit of havign a car park as we've stayed in Windermere before, no parking at the hotel and it was a pain trying to find a space when it's so busy. We were able to easily get in the car this time with our walking gear and head off up the hills.
