Hi dear friends, I just want to share with you my experience at Brasov, what I decide to visit with the gang from Covasna. Brasov is one of the most beautiful cities in Romania. I just about 1 hour of traveling from Covasna with the bus, actually it’s called Maxi-Taxi.

We arrived at Brasov, and we was really lucky because one of us is living in this city, so he guide us through the city, and show us the best places of the city.

First we visited the Black Church. You should know one thing about Brasov. A lot of the building has in the name the Black, because in 21 April 1689 was a great conflagration in the city, most of the building was harmed by the flames, so this is why a lot of building have the Black color in his name, referring to this great disaster.

The Black Church actually was renovated but some part of it was leaved burned as a spectacle for visitors, you can see grime on the walls. You can’t take pictures interior; it is really kept in secret. In the church you will find the biggest collection of carpet in Europe. It is just amazing.

After this amazing church, we visited the castle of Brasov, just situated almost in the center of the city. It is in really good estate, like a museum however it is free to enter and walk around.

You can’t miss out to take a look above the city from the medieval towers, it is really great.

End the end of the day we arrived at the hill called Timpa near the city with cable-car. The vision from that place it is just amazing, you can see the entire city. And we find a really funny thing here. At the top of the hill you can find giant letters like in Hollywood just showing BRASOV.

After this great but fatiguing we just arrived back to Covasna and after a short briefing we gone to sleep like a baby.

Wandering in Brasov - Jun 25, 2009, by danpop

First of all I think it’s worth mentioning that in 2008 Brasov helped me to honor one third of one of my promises. I said to myself that in 2008 I will visit Brasov, Sibiu and Budapest. Unfortunately only Brasov objective was achieved. Next will follow shortly, well, at least I hope so. I visited Brasov not only once that year (I wonder if that counts [...]

Admire the architecture of Brasov - Jul 24, 2009, by asterix

Brasov is a really beautiful city, with a lot of ancient buildings including the famous Black Church and the city's castle. The inner city is also beautiful wearing the signs of Transilvanian Saxon architecture. There are a lot of old houses very well preserved, it's a little bit like people don't even want to restore them, they don't wnt to loose the [...]

After seeing the castles we went back to visit Brasov one of the biggest cities in Romania. After finding a place to park our car (without paying a fee:)) we went to see the city center and the famous Black Church. I've already been there once so I knew the way and we didn't get lost:) Unfortunately we arrived at about 6 PM and the Church had been opened [...]
