by On Saturday morning we arrived to Arieseni with some friends. We had a reservation for a night in the 'Cabana Art' pension. It was a really nice place opened in December the previous year, so it was very new :) Our room was on the third floor, if I remember well, and from our balcony we could see the ski trails.
After leaving our things at the reception (we could get in our room only after 12) we went to ski. There were quite many people on the trails, so we headed to the beginner one to avoid the skiers who came down with an amazing speed :) The weather was fine, maybe a bit too warm, the sun was shining all day.
After spending some hours with skiing we get back to the pension to eat something. The pension's restaurant is nice, bright and friendly. It's not too big, so it seems like it's always crowded. We ate only a soup because we got so big portions that we weren't hungry at all after it.
In the evening we went back to ski. Both of the ski trails have lights which are on till 9 pm. Skiing when it's dark outside is interesting :) I felt that I could see better than in the sunlight.

The resort is situated at an elevation of 950m and it has mostly the basic ingredients for a ski resort, nothing fancy, quite rustic and peaceful. Reservation in advance is required if you want to go for the weekend. Prices are reasonable and range from 20 to 50 Euros a night but they go rocket high for Christmas or New year’s Eve. The slope is 900 m long and it is illuminated by night. It is regularly groomed and of medium difficulty. There is also a smaller slope next to it and beginners and those who want to go sleighing are safe there. Getting up is easy as there is a cable that has a good capacity.... Read more »
