Short visit in Montreal, Quebec

The smoked meat is apparently the big thing here, but I rather had a rib eye, as that's the only thing I can't really get over here in Europe.
I was determined to check out the night life a little on my own on this beautiful hot summer night. My partner was asleep already because of the jet lag. I was tired as well, but everybody had told me to go out in Montreal, and so I did.
My outing came to a stop after I had walked about 45 minutes to the old part of Montreal. Just when I tried to enter the club I noticed that I had left my wallet at the hotel:(This sucked... so I changed plans and just walked back to the hotel and accessed the Internet.
The next day was relaxed. We went downtown and looked around a bit more. We were invited to a BBQ at 6:30 and then for dinner again at 8:30. Crazy!
The BBQ was excellent, some very very good steaks, great potatoes, grilled peppers and fantastic mussels to start off. I could have eaten a lot more but I had to leave some room for the steak I was going to eat 1 1/2 hrs later:)
The steak at the restaurant turned out excellent as well. Some great appetizers, and dessert, as well as 'fantastic' wine was also part of it. The place is called Cavalli and you should really try it some time when you get to Montreal.
Sunday was another perfect and also relaxing day. We took a cab up on the Mont Real, located in the center of Montreal and after which the city should be named:) It's a green haven where you simply forget the big city life.
The next day, we had another meeting and were then off to the Niagara Falls the next day.
BTW something I learnt on this trip is that you should always have a router with you, if you plan on sharing an internet connection. We both logged into the same connection, and we both had to pay for the connection, which kinda sucked. They check your MAC address, so all new laptops have to pay, even though you are in the same room.

A couple of days in Montreal
Recommended Montreal Guide
Peace was restored when the nationalist Liberals came to the power. The thing is that there conflicts have not made Montréal fade away and it is still graceful, visitor friendly and one of the safest cities in North America with a very low crime rate. The city’s economy has revived too favoured in part by good currency exchange. A building boom followed and many old buildings as the old hockey arena were restored and unprofitable businesses were saved from bankruptcy. New dining and entertainment centres rose attracting the visitors that find Montréal a modern metropolis with its skyline full of skyscrapers, antiques shops,... Read more »
