Carretera Nacional (which is also known as Panamerican Highway) is an important road of Monterrey. It connects Mexico City to Nuevo Laredo and Carretera Interoceánica is another important road which passes through Monterrey and connects the port of Mazatlán to Matamoros. Three important highways (namely 45, 40, and 57) also pass through Monterrey. Lanes especially for buses connect Monterrey to the deeper Mexico, to the border of U.S. and to the United States.
