Budapest, called the "The bride of Danube" or "The pearl of Danube", is one of the cities with the most beautiful location in the world. Nowadays, the capital of Hungary shows a city full of ancient monuments and buildings.

Main attractions :

1. The parliament of Budapest:

The Parliament was built in neo-Gothic style, and is definitly one of Budapest's main sights. The Parliament has 691 rooms, 268 meters long and 118 meters wide and 96 meters high.

For the interior decoration has been used more than 40 kg of 22 carat gold.

A tour around of the building is free for public, but for countries outside the EU is around 2700 HUF.

2. St.Stephen’s Basilica / A Szent Istvan Bazilika

Saint Stephen’s Basilica is the largest church of the capital.

This church is famous because of his unique and magnifique landscape from 65 meters high.

The ticket’s price is around 1600-2000 Huf.

3. Hungarian State Opera House / Magyar Állami Operaház

The cheapest tickets around 700 Huf start, but if you want to book a better place, be allocated for 1500 Huf.

4. Matthias Church / A Mátyás-templom

This church was named after King Matthias, who lived between 1443 and 1490 and who twice married here.Entry price: 1000 Huf.

5. Fisherman Bastion / Halászbástya

The Fisherman is located next to the Matthias Church.

It's very easy to remark the breath-taking sight from the Fisherman Bastion.

6. Gellert Hill / Gellért-hegy

Here you can enjoy a still more beautiful landscape of Budapest.Buda and Pest is in almost every direction you can see.Once you get here, you can visit other tourist attractions in this area, such as:

· The Citadella of Budapest / Citadella

· Liberty Statue / Szabadság-szobor

· The Great waterfall/ Nagy vízesés

· Gellert Hill Cave / Gellérthegyi-barlang

7. Heroes' Square / A Hősök tere

The Heroes' Square is recommended for those who love the culture and history. In the square is situated a monument, which is set in hungary fell hero memory.

8. The bridges of Budapest / Budapest hídjai – 8 great well-known bridges over the Danube:

Budapest has a large variety of shopping malls like West End CityCenter, Aréna Pláza, Árkád Shopping Center, Mammut I, Mammut II, Duna Plaza, Pólus Center etc.

One of the main turistic attractions is represented by Széchenyi Bath. In this bath can be found different pools within the building and beyond. The spa waters, which contains minerals has a very high temperature - the highest reach 38°C.The advantage is that you can stay as long as you want in this bath.

For me, the most interesting museum was the House of Terror, which shows the history and practices of the nazi and the communist regimes. It is located in the former headquarters of the AVO, the hungarian secret police. The museum is really impressive and also deprimating.
BTW the Paris of the east was Bucharest.
Thanks for this guide of Budapest.

Budapest Sights

Sights in Budapest city centerBudapest holds several cultural attractions due to the architectural boom that allowed architects to construct what they wanted in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Not all of the cultural attractions in Budapest sights are located next to each other, but the most important ones do all lie on the same vertical axis, making them known as the “Cultural Avenue” of Budapest. The Buda Castle District, for starters, is the richest part of cultural attractions when it comes to Budapest sights and is quite reminiscent to Bratislava. Here, you can find several museums, from the Museum of Music History to the Museum of Telephony... Read more »
