France - Paris

Spring time is great to visit, as the city is pleasantly warm but not too hot. The southern regions are nicer in the summer time as you want to hit the beaches. Autumn can get cooler and there can be a bunch of rain. The Alps and Pyrenees offer great skiing and January till February are usually the best times if you like the sport.

Netherlands - Amsterdam

Amsterdam! Who cares when you go, it's always fun. Nevertheless, summer is most popular, and if you want to see the tulips go in spring.

Spain - Madrid, Barcelona

The best months to visit are May, June and September. Winter times in the South are very nice and mild, but exactly beach weather. If you are looking for a cultural trip, this is probably the best time to go. If you want to do beaches as well, the choice is summer.

Italy - Venice, Rome, Florence, Milan

Spring is just beautiful in Italy. April and May generally offer mild temperatures for culture trips. In order to hit the beaches, you want to go from May to September. Autumn can be a bit rainy and not as pleasant and lasts from October to November. The ski season usually lasts from December to March.

Greece - Athens, islands

The best time to visit is definitely spring, June being pleasantly warm. Mid-June to end of August usually gets very hot and also a bit crowded, and again better conditions from end of August to mid-October.

Turkey - Istanbul, Gallipoli

Spring and autumn are the best times to visit, similarly as in Greece, the summer season gets a bit touristy and a bit too hot for most of us. Autumn is great for visiting the coastline as you get some pleasant temperatures and yet the cooling breezes of the sea.

Russia - St Petersburg, Moscow

The winter times get very cold. The best times are probably July and August but are generally a bit humid.

Eastern Block - Czech Republic, Hungary

You can enjoy a very nice spring in Budapest and Prague, there are not many tourists and the weather is already nice. The summer is also very nice and hot.

Austria - Vienna, Salzburg

Summertime is the high season, but because of the great skiing, the winter time is also very popular, but leaves the cities free of tourists. For skiing trips go between December and March.

Germany - Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich

May to September are generally the best travel months. Autumn and spring can be very nice but is not very predictable. It can be absolutely gorgeous but at times horrific as well. The summers are pleasantly hot and dry.

Switzerland - Lucerne, Zurich

Summer lasts from June to September and is rather mild, skiing season in the Alps opens from late November to early April.

Sweden - Stockholm

The days get quite long between May and July and the temperatures are usually pleasantly warm. August is usually pleasantly hot but humid. It is still the most popular time to visit.

Norway - Oslo

The best times to travel is May to September, with long days and pleasant weather. From mid May to end of July the sun actually never goes down below the horizon.

Finland - Helsinki

There is some nice weather in the months from May to September. Afterwards great for skiing and cross country skiing, there is plenty of snowfall from November.

Paris History

Paris, FranceFrance being one of the leading nations in Europe has a history that can be traced back to thousands of years.  Life was possible for the Neanderthals back then due to fertile lands and favorable geographical location. Due to this reasons, Paris has become a center for artistic and intellectual development for numerous centuries with influences including Celtic, Roman, and Scandinavian.   To understand its history, it is best to review it by period.  During the Roman times around 3rd century BC, the Parisii or Celtics inhabited Ile de la Cite and continued for 3 centuries until the barbaric invasion. ...
