One of North America’s premier resorts, Aspen Snowmass is located on one of the four renowned peaks of Aspen area, a Rocky Mountain massif with a vertical drop of 4,406 feet. Getting here is a piece of cake. If you get to Aspen airport, it’s only six miles to Snowmass Village.

Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk are its smaller brothers, so to say as it is in Snowmass that you can find an endless list of events throughout the year. When to come here is not an issue, you don’t have to bother about the timing as it will always be excellent. No matter when you come, you are sure to find plenty of activities to keep you busy and entertained. Just to give you a hint: there are the Hi-Fi Concert Series, Women's Alpine Ski Racing, Colorado Free ride Series, Big Air Fridays, the Spring Jam and the list goes on.

Not only the activities are plenty to fill up your schedule for days on, but Snowmass itself is huge and you’ll need more than a day to visit it. But even those who know it by heart still keep coming as the resort has its personal charm that lures tourists year after year with its 3,000 acres of cruisers, steeps, terrain parks and half pipes.

You can’t get bored of it, there‘s always something to do and changes are always for the better. With the development going on at the new base village at Snowmass it can be said that the resort is undergoing a renaissance and the skiers and riders will be pleasantly surprised by the improvements they will see in the 2006-2007 season. They want to provide quicker lift rides and easier access. Among the newest acquisitions and attraction is the new eight-person Elk Camp Gondola, a Swiss-made marvel that will take you from the new base village to the top of Elk Camp in just 8.5 minutes and allow you to view all the splendors of the area through its floor-to-ceiling windows. There is also the Sky Cab gondola, the Village Express six-pack and the Aspen Highlands' Deep Temerity triple chair. With all the lifts available you will have a pleasurable and fast ride up the mountain and this way you will save more time for coming down.

Skiing is not the only sport practiced around at the Multi-Use Sports Complex located at the Aspen Parks & Recreation facility where you can go on having fun skating, rock climbing, swimming and much more. Entertainment is not only linked to snow you can relax and have fun from dining in fine restaurants to unwinding in one of the many clubs. The question will never be “where to go or what to do?” but “do we have enough time to try it all?”

From morning till evening you can be out enjoying the nature’s gifts and when the night comes you can enjoy the nightlife in Snowmass that is nothing but excellent. You can choose from discos, playing billiards, listening to music in jazz clubs, at outdoor concerts in downtown Aspen, or at the Aspen Music Festival & School that features winter concert series.

With such a wide variety of events, Snowmass is the perfect place for family fun. Kids can join the parents especially at dining times. There are Ski & Snowboard Schools programs for children, adventurous and interactive kids' trails, and children’s race arena. For quality time spent together with the kids go for a family snow cat ride for an evening filled with sing-a-longs. To immortalize all the great moments you have a team of professionals at Mountain Photo photograph you.

There are also tours like the free naturalist-guided skiing/riding tour for Environmental Studies and the scenic snowmobile tour to Maroon Bells.

When it comes to winter destinations Aspen Snowmass is at the top with fantastic skiing, exciting nightlife, great cultural activities and great shopping.
