- Auki (Solomon Islands)
by trusted-source

(about Auki, Solomon Islands, last edited on Feb 02, 2004)

Auki is the provincial capital of Malaita Province, Solomon Islands. It is situated on the northern end of Langalanga Lagoon on the north-west coast of Malaita Island. There are daily flights between the Solomons capital of Honiara (on Guadalcanal Island) and Auki. There are also regular shipping services between Honiara and Auki.

The town has electricity and the road is paved to the airport (approx. 11km). The town is very nice, with fruit, vegetables and fresh fish sold daily in the market at the main wharf.

The newly elected Member of Parliament in the 2006 elections for Auki-Langalanga constituency is Bartholomew Ulufa'alu.

Coordinates: 8°46′S 160°42′E
