Wolf Mountain, UT, United States

(about Nordic Valley Estates, UT United States, last edited on Nov 12, 2007)

Formerly known as Nordic Valley, Wolf Mountain is 50 miles north of Salt Lake City and just 15 miles from Ogden. Being part of the resort community called Wolf Creek Resort and part of the Wolf Creek Resident's Club, the members have priority access to the resort, exclusive golf privileges and other facilities. Getting here is easy as it is just a short drive from the international airport.

Maybe it does not shine as other resorts, but it has something to attract tourists: low prices and here they are the lowest in the Rockies. Imagine a sum of as much as $10 per person to ski and the ski lesson fees are just as affordable!

Maybe you’d say that after all quality matters. But you know what, it is not that bad! It is actually quite good. Maybe people have overlooked it because they thought that low price means poor quality, but here it is definitely not the case. There is an amazing variety of terrain on 85 skiable acres receiving an average annual snowfall of 350 inches.

There is night-time skiing and the resort is also open for snowboarding. And even more, just because not many people have considered in coming here the resort hasn’t been affected by traffic and shopping centers. This is not something to be overlooked, after all most of the holidaymakers run away from the hassle of the city to find a quiet place to relax and have fun. You can have a great skiing experience to measure up to the other skiing resorts. So if your budget is low and you have a big family, this is the place to come for your winter holiday!

Wolf Mountain is definitely a family friendly resort! Children are welcomed and there are plenty of activities and specials every weeknight to keep the whole family happy. This is the place to focus on spending time with your loved ones away from the worries of everyday life. For a bit of time on the slopes, parents can drop off their kids for their lessons and programs at the new Wolf Mountain Learning Center Yurt and Kids Zone.

Learning to ski is at its best with the Wolf Mountain Learning Center having some of the best Ski Instructors in America who will see to your fast learning and to getting you on the track as soon a possible all at an affordable price, the Family Lodging and Learning Packages and the "Get On Board" Special are especially good deals. The terrain is excellent for beginners and children including newly added beginner runs and a new first-timers terrain park and it is separate from the more advanced or intermediate terrain that is further up the mountain.

The spectacular views of the valley are available for all levels as they can ride up the lift together and then go separate ways on runs that meet their ability just to meet again at the bottom.

One of the ways to get on the top is by hoping on the Howling Wolf Double Chair. The Wolfdeedo Double Chair is especially for beginners and takes them to one of the best beginner slopes in Utah. The Wolf’s Lair Terrain Park includes 20 features for both beginners and more advanced levels.

Another remarkable feature is that you can extend your skiing at night as Wolf Mountain offers Utah's largest night skiing with 100% of the mountain being lighted. The lighting system is excellent and you will definitely enjoy every minute of your skiing
Perhaps the most delightful surprise about Wolf Mountain is that it's one of the few North American resorts that can truly be a remarkable vacation for just about everyone at an affordable price.
